You may have heard or seen videos on social media of alternative treatments to the conditions above using stem cells. It is becoming a reality very quickly.

Two weeks ago a study was published by researchers at Duke University that had very positive findings for autistic children using stem cell therapy. The results were impressive: More than two-thirds of the children showed reported improvements. A larger second trial is underway, one its researchers hope will lead to long-term treatment for children with autism. Read more about the study and it's participants HERE.

Research is still in the early stages and the research study referenced above was a safety study which means that it was done to make sure that the treatment would do no harm to the participants. Researchers found that 70% of the participants had behavioral improvements! It was a small study with 25 participants so the doctors and researchers remain cautiously optimistic.

Autism is just one of a many debilitating conditions that is now finding hope with treatment through stem cell therapy. Other clinical trials are under way for Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Diabetes, Liver Disease, Alzheimer's disease, Cerebral Palsy, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Asthma, and Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Last week, Coastal Integrative Healthcare sent our medical staff to Arizona for specific training on how neurologists and other doctors are using stem cells to cross the blood brain barrier. Because the therapy is new and the research is pending, it cannot be said that stem cells treat any of these conditions. There have been cases like the autism study referenced above where patients are having very positive results. Because the therapy is FDA approved, clinics can still perform the procedure, but with no promises or guarantees of outcomes or expectations.

Stem cells are the future of medicine. In the next few short years we will see breakthroughs that we didn't think were possible with chronic diseases and conditions.
