Coastal Integrative Healthcare in Edgewater, Florida has begun it's annual food drive to benefit the community. The clinic has a goal of 200 pounds of non perishable food to donate to Gifts of Love. The food drive began last week and will run through the end of November.
To encourage members of the community to donate generously, Coastal Integrative is offering a complimentary new patient exam and a half hour massage to any person that brings in 5 non perishable food items.
According to the website feedingamerica.org, 1 in 6 Americans face hunger.
- In 2012, 49.0 million Americans lived in food insecure households, 33.1 million adults and 15.9 million children.
- In 2012, 14.5 percent of households (17.6 million households) were food insecure.
Clinic Director Timothy Steflik, D.C. says that he is pleased with the response from the community. "This is really a great opportunity to give what we can and help where we can. It's a win-win-win situation for everyone."
